The old name for Dwarka. It’s an island and the city was built by the king Revata. Revata was the son of Aanarta, grandson of Vaivaswatamanu.

Antecedents: Vishnu – Brahma – Marichi – Kashyapa – Vivasvan – Vaivaswatamanu – Sharyati – Aanarta – Revata.

Some scriptures credit Aanarta for building the first forts in Kushasthali. The island was submerged after a few years. Later it arose and became a dense forest. Much later, Krishna established Dwarka. After his death, and the destruction of the Yadava clan, it was submerged again. It is believed that this place is west of the Gujarat coast as per Devibhagavata Saptamaskanda and Shrimadbhagavata Dashamaskanda.
