Vyasa’s Mahabharata has 18 parvas. The first – adiparva has many sub categories, of which the first is Anukramanikaparva. In this chapter, Ugrashravas (also known as Sutananda), son of Lomaharshana, comes to Shaunaka’s twelve year long satra in Naimisharanya and starts narrating the Mahabharata.
