Once Suranchas’ kingdom was plagued by famine and his treasury became empty. His enemies chose this time to attack him and Suvarchas didn’t have an army. He prayed to the gods and clapped his hands. A huge army appeared ready to fight for him, and he defeated his enemies. Since he got ana rmy by clapping his hands (karam dhama) he became known as Karandhama.<\/p>\n
His son was the famous king Avikshit as per Mahabharata Ashwamedhaparva Chapter 4.<\/p>\n
