Kasheru

The beautiful daughter of the prajapati Twashta. She was kidnapped by Narakasura at the age of fourteen. After Krishna defeated Narakasura, Kasheru was one of those whom Krishna married, as per Mahabharata Sabhaparva Chapter 38.

A pitr group. When Daksha and others became infatuated with Sandhya, Brahma’s manasaputri, their seed formed this pitr group as per Devibhagavata Skandas 11, 15.

Kavisha

A sage. When Rama returned to Ayodhya, he was one of the sages who visited him along with Dhaumya, Raudreya, Narada, Vamadeva, Saurabhi, Ashtavakra, Shuka, Bhrigu, Lomasha, Maulgalya, who came from the west as per Uttararamayana.

A sanskrit poet who lived in the 12th century. Raghavapandaveeyam, Parijataharana were his main works. His real name was Madhavabhatta.

Kavi (4)

From Varuna’s famous yajna and Brahma’s sacrificial fire emerged Kavi, Angiras and Bhrigu as per Mahabharata Anushasanaparva Chapter 85 verse 132. Brahma made Kavi his son and 8 sons were born to Kavi, called Varunas. One of them was also named Kavi and another Kavya.

The fifth son of Brihaspati was also a Kavi, and he was an agni. He exists as a khandavagni in the bottom of the ocean. He is also known as Udana and Urdhvabhuk as per Mahabharata Vanaparva Chapter 219 verse 20.

The Mahabharata Adiparva Chapter 66 verse 42 mentions a Kavi as Bhrigu’s son. he was one of those who stole Agastya’s lotuses as per Mahabharata Anushasanaparva Chapter 94 verse 32.
