A sage belonging to Vyasa’s disciple dynasty. Vyasa’s disciple was Jaimini, whose son was Sumantu. Sumantu – Sutva – Sukarma. Sukarma had 2 disciples named Hiranyanabha, Paushpinji. Hiranyanabha was also called Kausalya as per Vishnupurana Ansh 3 Chapter 6.

Kausalya (5)
Wife of Janaka, king of Mithila. Once Janaka left the palace and his family and began begging. Kausalya stood in front of him and argued against this. She finally succeeded in bringing him back.
Kausalya (4)
The wife of Puru, son of Yayati. Their son was Janamejaya as per Mahabharata Adiparva Chapter 95 verse 11.
Kausalya (3)
A Yadava queen. She was the mother of Keshi as per Devibhagavata Navamaskanda.
Kausalya (2)
The queen of Kashi. Her daughters were Amba, Ambika, Ambalika. Ambalika was also called Kausalya. After Pandu’s death, she went to the forests with Ambika, as per Mahabharata Adiparva Chapter 129.
Kausalya (1)
One of Dasarath’s wives. The others were Kaikeyi and Sumitra. From them, his sons were Rama, Bharata, And Lakshmana, Shatrughna respectively as per Ramayana Balakanda Sarga 16.

OR Kaushala. The name given to Skanda when he had the face of a goat, as per Mahabharata Vanaparva Chapter 228 verse 4.

A holy place. Undergoing upavasa here for three consecutive nights grants one redemption from sins as per Mahabharata Vanaparva Chapter 84.
Kaushika
Also known as Gomati. A river on the banks of which is located Vishwamitra’s hermitage. It is known as Kosi and flows through Bihar. Bathing in this river is way of redeeming sins as per Mahabharata Vanaparva Chapter 84.
Kaushikashrama
A holy place where the daughter of the king of Kashi meditated as per Mahabharata Udyogaparva Chapter 156 verse 27.
