Kandarppa

Another name for Kama. Kama was born from Brahma’s mind. As soon as he was born, he asked ‘Kam Darpa’, and thus the name as per Kathasaritasagara Lavanakalambaka Taranga 6.

Cattle

Kashyapa was born to Brahma. He married Daksha’s daughter Krodhavasha. They had ten daughters, one of whom was Surabhi. Surabhi had two daughters – Rohini, Gandharvi. From Rohini were born cattle and from Gandharvi, horses.

Kanakayus

A Kaurava, also known as Karakayus. He was present at Draupadi’s swayamwar as per Mahabharata Adiparva Chapter 67 verse 185.

Kanakhala (2)

A holy place on the banks of the Ganga. Bathing here gives the same benefits as conducting an ashwamedha as per Mahabharata Vanaparva Chapter 84 verse 30. Kalidasa mentions it in Meghdoot. As per Uttararamayana, Thakshaka, son of Lakshmana, defeated the tribals here and established a city named Agati as per Vasishta’s instructions.
