Avichi
One of the 28 narakas. (hell) The others are Raurava, Sukara, Rodha, Tala, Vishasana, Mahajwala, Taptakumbha, Lavana, Vilohita, Rudhirambhas, Vaitarani, Krimisham, Krimibhojanam, Asipatravana, Krishnam, Lalabhaksham, Daruna, Puyavaha, Papa, Vahnijwala, Adhashiras, Sandamsha, Kalasutra, Tamas, Shwabhojana, Aprathista, Aprachi, as per Vishnupurana Ansh 2 Chapter 6.
This is a naraka for those who lie or use a false name. They are pushed into Avichi from a mountain 100 yojanas high. The Avichi seems like an ever moving ocean, but when they fall on it, their bones are broken and their bodies crushed. They are then revived and thrown again, as per Devibhagavata Ashtamaskanda.

A sage in the Kardama dynasty.

Avimukta
The middle portion of Kashi. There is a temple situated here, and it is believed that those who sacrifice themselves here attain moksha, as per Mahabharata Vanaparva Chapter 64 verses 78-79.
Avindhya
A rakshasa supported by Ravana. But he argued that Sita should be returned to Rama, as per Ramayana Sundarakanda Sarga 37 verses 12-13. It was this old rakshasa who sent Trijata to Ashokavana to console Sita, as per Mahabharata Aranyaparva verse 56. He also stopped Ravana when he once tried to kill Sita, as per Mahabharata Aranyaparva Chapter 289 verses 28-30.
After Rama’s victory, it was Avindhya who took Sita to him, as per Mahabharata Vanaparva Chapter 291 verses 6-7.
Avijnathagati
One of the two sons born to Anila, a Vasu and his wife Shiva. His brother was named Manojava.

The king Kuru and his wife Vahini had 5 sons, one of whom was Avikshit.
Avikshit (1)
This famous king was the father of Marutta and the son of Karandama. He conducted a hundred ashwamedha yajnas and was respected even by Brihaspati. He had eight wives including Vara, Gauri, Subhadra, Vibha, Manyavati, Kumudwati as per Markandeyapurana. In addition, he also married Vaishalini, the princess of Vishala. He won the hand of Vaishalini by defeating other kings in a swayamvar. These kings later got together, defeated Avikshit in battle, and took him prisoner. He was finally rescued by Karandama, as per Mahabharata Ashwamedhaparva Chapter 4 verses 19-21.
Avikambana
This king received satvadharma from sages, as per Mahabharata Shantiparva Chapter 384 verse 47.
