Ajagava
Ajagava is a bow made from the branches of Aja and Gov trees.
When brahmins shook the right hand of Vena, a child who blazed as brightly as Agni emerged. This was Prithu, who later became a brave warrior. When he was born, several divine weapons and armour fell from the sky. According to Vishnupurana Ansh 1 Chapter 13, Ajagava was one of them.
Ajakashva
A king of the Puruvansha. Ajameedha and his wife Keshini had a child called Jahnu, who grew up to become a great warrior. Jahnu had two sons – Ajakashva and Balakashva. Balakashva had a son called Kushika. According to Agnipurana Chapter 278, Kushika was Vishwamitra’s ancestor.

An asura.
Brahma’s son Marichi, in turn had a son called Kashyapa. According to Mahabharata Adiparva Chapter 65 verse 24 and Chapter 67 verse 16, Kashyapa had a son called Aja with Danu, one of the daughters of Daksha.

The Manus in the first three manvantharas were Swayambhuva, Swarochisha and Uttama respectively. According to Vishnupurana Ansh 3 Chapter 1, Uttama’s children were Aja, Parashu and Deepta.

According to Agnipurana Chapter 18, Surabhi, whose prayed to Shiva for children, became the mother of Aja, Ekapat, Aharbudhnya, Thwashta, and Rudra.
Aja (3)
Aja was the son of a king called Jahnu. Aja’s son was Ushika. Ushika prayed to Indra for a son, and Indra himself was born as Ushika’s son Gadhi. Gadhi had a daughter called Satyavati, who got married to Richika. According to Mahabharata Shantiparva Chapter 49, their son was Jamadagni, father of Parashurama.

According to Mahabharata Shantiparva Chapter 26, when Yudhishtira discussed the various forms of asceticism, he also mentions a group of rishis called Ajas. They attained heaven through their own efforts.

Aja’s son is Dasarath, father of Rama. According to Mahabharata Anushasanaparva Chapter 115 verse 75, Aja was a vegetarian.
