Kashyapa’s wife. Kashyapa was also married to Diti, Aditi, Danu, Arishta, Surasa, Khasa, Surabhi, Vinata, Tamra, Krodhavasha, Ira, Kadru, Muni. As per Agnipurana Chapter 19, the world’s grasses were born from her.

Indrota

A son of the sage Shunaka. He’s also known as Shaunaka. Once Parikshit’s son Janamejaya killed a brahmin and received a brahmahatya curse. He consulted several sages to find a solution and was advised by Indrota to go on a pilgrimage. The king listened to the sage and was released from the curse, as per Mahabharata Shantiparva Chapters 150- 153.

Indrani

Wife of Indra.

Antecedents: Vishnu – Brahma – Kashyapa – Puloma – Shachi (Indrani)

Puloma was an asura born to Kashyapa and Danu. His daughter Shachi was married to Indra. She was thence called Indrani. She was also earlier called Paulomi.

Once an asura named Shurapadma desired Indrani, and sent his henchmen to capture Indrani. Indra learned of this and took her to a temple in Chiyyazhi (believed to be in the Konkan) After some time, he left Indrani in Ayyappa’s protection and went to Kailash. Shurapadma’s sister Ajamukhi too this opportunity to try and entice Indrani. Ayyappa cut off her hands and took Indrani to Kailash as per Skandapurana Asurakanda.

As per the Mahabharata Adiparva Chapter 67, Draupadi is an ansh avatar of Indrani.

According to Mahabharata Sabhaparva Chapter 11 verse 42, Indrani once worshiped Brahma in Brahmasabha.

Once, when Krishna and Satyabhama visited devaloka, Indrani took Satyabhama to meet Aditi as per Mahabharata Sabhaparva Chapter 38.

As per Mahabharata Shalyaparva Chapter 46 verse 13, Indrani was present during the birth of Subramanya.

Indrasena (6)

As per Mahabharata Sabhaparva Chapter 33 verse 30, a charioteer of the Pandavas, who accompanied them in their exile, according to Mahabharata Vanaparva chapter 1 verse 11. When the Pandavas reached Gandhamadana, they left him with Subahu, king of Pulinda, as per Mahabharata Vanaparva Chapter 140 verse 27, and later sent him to Dwaraka, as per Mahabharata Virataparva Chapter 4 verse 58. Indrasena was present at Upaplavya for Abhimanyu’s wedding, as per Mahabharata Virataparva Chapter 72 verse 23.

The princess of Anga, also known as Nalayani. She was the wife of Rishyashringa, as per Mahabharata Vanaparva Chapter 113 verse 24. She served her husband for a thousand years as per Mahabharata Virataparva Chapter 21 verse 11.
