An ancient kingdom whose king dealt effectively with crime. He was present at Draupadi’s swayamwar as per Mahabharata Adiparva Chapter 185.

Kaarandhama

A holy place near the southern ocean. Agastyatheertha, Saubhadratheertha, Paulomatheertha, Kaarandhamatheertha, Bharadwajatheertha are known as the Panchatheertha in the south. Arjuna visited all of them during his pilgrimage. During that time, sages never visited these places since five devastris – Varga, Saurabheyi, Samichi, Bulbuda, Lata used to live here as crocodiles after being cursed by a sage. Arjuna released all of them from the curse. See Varga for more details.

Kayavya

A chandala who was born to a kshatriya man and a chandala woman. He became the head of the chandalas and he encouraged his tribe to worship brahmins and love their country as per Mahabharata Shantiparva Chapter 135.
