Kardama (1)

A prajapati. Brahma’s son Pulaha had three sons with his wife Kshama – Kardama, Urvariya, Sahishnu, as per Vishnupurana Ansh 1 Chapter 10. Kardama married Devahuti, who was the daughter of Swayambhuvamanu. Her sisters were Akuti, Prasuti as per Devibhagavata Ashtamaskanda.

Devahuti looked after Kardama well and was rewarded with a flying machine. They both roamed the world and soon Devahuti became pregnant. They had nine daughters and a son, Kapila. The girls were married off by Marichi, and Kapila became a renowned sage. Kardama then underwent Samadhi as per Bhagavata Tritiyaskanda.

Karnikaravana

A forest to the north of the Sumeru mountain. All six seasons appear simultaneously in this place and thus it is always filled with flowers as per Mahabharata Bhishmaparva Chapter 6 verse 24.

Karnika

One of the apsaras who sang and danced at Arjuna’s birth festival. The others were Menaka, Sahajanya, Punjikasthala, Ritusthala, Ghritachi, Vishwachi, Purvachitti, Ullocha, Pramlocha and Urvashi according to Mahabharata Adiparva Chapter 123.

Karnapravarana (2)

A group of people who lived on the banks of the oceans of the south. Sahadeva conquered them as per Mahabharata Sabhaparva Chapter 31 verse 67. Their ears apparently extended till their feet. They brought presents to Yudhishtira’s court as per Mahabharata Sabhaparva Chapter 52 verse 19.
